Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a skilled nursing facility setting. In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with occupational therapists and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through targeted therapy interventions. This position offers a dynamic environment where your skills in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient care will make a meaningful difference every day. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and safety Implement individualized care plans developed by occupational therapists, ensuring therapy goals are met effectively Support patients across various settings including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments Contribute to patient assessments by observing progress and providing feedback to the therapy team Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and health maintenance strategies Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment sessions, and clinical notes in compliance with healthcare regulations Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans that address patient needs holistically Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles Experience working in skilled nursing facilities or inpatient settings preferred; clinic or outpatient experience is a plus Strong understanding of assisting with ADLs, geriatrics, pediatrics, and home health environments Ability to apply therapy techniques effectively across diverse patient populations including acute care and outpatient clinics Excellent communication skills to educate patients and work seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with medical imaging concepts and the development of personalized care plans based on patient assessments
Pay:
$1,937.00 - $2,037.00 per week
