to assist with weekly treatments in our Fairmont outpatient clinic where the team is focused on helping patients to "reach their peak!" Responsibilities include coordinating with primary clinical staff regarding patient treatment needs and effectively carrying out evidenced based interventions. Elevate Therapy Center offers the opportunity to work directly with a variety of patient demographics and conditions, including adults and pediatrics, in an outpatient setting with the ultimate goal of restoring independence and function. Responsibilities Provide individualized occupational therapy interventions based on the patient's established plan of care and under the supervision of the OTR/L. Treat pediatric and adult patients with a variety of diagnoses, developmental needs, and functional limitations. Implement therapeutic activities targeting fine motor skills, gross motor coordination, strength, endurance, balance, coordination, and functional mobility. Address activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and other self-care skills. Address instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), including home management, community participation, and functional routines as appropriate. Provide interventions to improve upper-extremity function, range of motion, strength, coordination, and functional use of the hands. Provide sensory-based interventions and strategies for patients with sensory processing and regulation needs. Assist pediatric patients with developmental skills, handwriting, visual-motor integration, motor planning, school-related tasks, and age-appropriate functional activities. Work with adult patients to improve independence and safety with daily activities, work-related tasks, and community participation. Modify therapeutic activities and treatment approaches based on patient response, functional needs, and direction from the supervising OTR/L. Educate patients and caregivers regarding therapeutic activities, home programs, adaptive techniques, and strategies to promote carryover outside of therapy. Collaborate with OTRs, other healthcare professionals, caregivers, teachers, and other members of the patient's care team as appropriate. Monitor patient progress and communicate changes, concerns, and clinical observations to the supervising OTR/L. Complete accurate and timely daily treatment documentation and other required clinical documentation. Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, professional standards, facility policies, and payer requirements. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and therapeutic treatment environment. Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain clinical competency and expand knowledge of pediatric and adult occupational therapy interventions. Demonstrate professional, compassionate, and patient-centered communication with patients, families, caregivers, and coworkers. Support the overall mission and values of the practice and contribute to a positive patient experience. Skills Knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices, and interventions Ability to implement treatment plans developed by the supervising OTR/L Strong understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) Pediatric developmental and age-appropriate treatment skills Adult rehabilitation and functional restoration skills Fine motor and gross motor intervention skills Upper-extremity strengthening, coordination, and range-of-motion techniques Sensory processing and regulation strategies Visual-motor and visual-perceptual activities Handwriting and school-related intervention skills Therapeutic exercise and functional activity skills Adaptive equipment and compensatory strategy training Accurate clinical documentation and treatment note completion Positive and enthusiastic mindset as part of a team-based atmosphere Must be graduate of accredited occupational therapy assistant program with active WV state licensure CPR Certification required
