Job Description

Optometric Technician Responsibilities:
Assisting with patient care and eye examinations. Taking patient histories. Teaching patient the insertion and removal of 1st time contact lens wearers. As well as the care and usage of medical devices such as contact lenses. Explaining the testing process to patients, preparing them, and administering tests on visual capabilities. Keeping records and inventory, and taking notes during examinations. Keeping the office organized and presentable. Cleaning and sterilizing equipment as necessary, making the exam room ready for each patient. Communicate with different pharmacies, multidisciplinary departments within health center, and ophthalmology surgery centers. Multitask while maintaining close attention to detail
Summary Optometrist's Assistant Summary:
You will support the optometrist and medical team by handling front desk tasks, patient intake, and basic clinical support. Reporting to the clinic supervisor, you will assist with diagnostic tests, maintain patient records, and ensure smooth daily operations. Core competencies include ophthalmology knowledge, medical terminology, and anatomy understanding, with premium emphasis on patient care, HIPAA compliance, and aseptic technique. Leverage clinic experience and EMR proficiency to deliver efficient, compassionate care and maintain accurate documentation in a fast-paced eye care environment.
