Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Ophthalmic Technician/Optician, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care and optical services. This energetic position combines technical expertise with compassionate patient interaction, ensuring each individual receives personalized attention and accurate vision solutions. You will be responsible for assisting with eye examinations, managing optical products, and supporting the clinical team to maintain efficient operations. Duties Assist optometrist during eye examinations by preparing patients and operating diagnostic equipment. Knowledge of Automatic Auto-Refractor, I-Care to check pressures, OCT, Visual Field Machine and Optomap are helpful. Conduct preliminary tests including assessing visual acuity, and performing basic ophthalmic assessments. Knowledge in optical would be helpful including fitting, adjusting, and dispensing glasses and contact lenses to meet patient needs. Educate patients on proper eyewear care, contact lens hygiene, and general eye health practices. Qualifications Prior experience in ophthalmology or optometry clinics is highly preferred; familiarity with clinic workflows is a plus. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eye, along with medical terminology relevant to ophthalmic care. Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures clearly to patients of all ages. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
