Job Description
We are a busy, multi-doctor ophthalmology practice currently seeking a full time ophthalmic technician to join our staff. This position requires at least one year of experience in the medical field. Ophthalmology/optometry experience strongly preferred, but not required. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Rooming patients, including noting all medications, checking vision and prepping the exam room for the doctor. Entering patient information into EHR
- Refracting tech desired, but not required.
- Performing diagnostic procedures such as visual field tests, Optos, retinal photos, Diopsys, pachymetry.
- Working with pharmacies regarding patient prescriptions
- Greeting patients, answering phone calls, returning phone messages. Other traits we are looking for:
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be a quick learner
- Must have good verbal as well as written communication skills We are looking for a natural multi-tasker and detail-oriented team player who can work in a fast-paced environment.
