In this vital role, you will assist optometrists with pre-testing patients using specialized ophthalmic diagnostic equipments, and ensure a smooth flow of patient services. Your proactive approach will contribute to creating a welcoming environment while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills executing medical office procedures within a supportive team setting. Duties include but not limited to: Prepare patients for eye examinations by collecting intake information and reviewing medical histories Operate ophthalmic equipments including autorefractor, diagnostic imaging, visual fields and tonometry tools for intraocular pressure assessment Maintain patient records accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Keep exam rooms clean, sanitized, and stocked with supplies. Check-in or check-out patients if the front desk is busy. Requirements Available to work Wednesdays from 9 AM-5:30 PM starting August through December. Prior experience in a medical/optometric office environment setting is a plus, however, we will train the right person Excellent patient service skills with a focus on direct patient care and compassionate communication Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain clinical aseptic techniques, and work effectively within a team .
