Our multi-specialty clinic is committed to delivering high-quality patient care through advanced technology and expert staff. Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and a thorough understanding of ophthalmology procedures. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to exceptional eye health services while working in a fast-paced, supportive environment. Duties Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Conduct preliminary patient assessments, including taking vital signs and collecting medical histories. Perform intake procedures and document patient information accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic. Maintain aseptic technique standards to prevent infection and ensure a sterile environment. Operate optical equipment and assist with diagnostic tests related to visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and other assessments. Support front desk operations by managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and handling medical billing and coding processes. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Provide education to patients regarding eye health, medication instructions, and post-procedure care. Obtain and record accurate patient history, chief complaints and scribe findings forPhysicians Performs lensometry and auto refractions Perform diagnostic testing such as but not limited to
HVF, OCT, IOL
Master, Fundus photography, ORB scans, Wave scans Obtain accurate visual acuities Perform accurate refractions Demonstrates ability to perform functional ocular measurements of the eye such as color vision testing, BAT testing, Amsler grid testing. Administer topical ophthalmic medications Perform accurate tonometry by applanation Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments Verbalize pre and post-operative instructions in a clear and professional manner to patients for any procedures performed Understand basic pharmacology: medication names and their use Communicates with patients directly or via telephone to respond appropriately and professionally to their needs Communicates with pharmacies and/ or referring doctor's office via telephone to respond appropriately and professionally to their needs Qualifications Prior experience in ophthalmology or medical office settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with optical equipment, diagnostic testing, and aseptic techniques. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail. -Obtain and record accurate patient history, chief complaints and scribe findings for
