Eyesthetica is looking for an Ophthalmic Technician/Medical Assistant interested in working in a fast paced environment where they will have the opportunity to work directly with our physicians and coordinate the daily activities of the back office by obtaining medical records, performing preliminary eye function testing, explaining to patients about medication or procedures and maintaining equipment. TITLE:
OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN/MEDICAL ASSISTANT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
: Superior Customer Service skills Excellent written, oral communication skills, and knowledge of medical terminology Management of multiple projects/tasks simultaneously Literate in medical management software and Microsoft Office preferred Well-organized with attention to detail Knowledge of clinical processes and procedures Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records Empathetic personality with concern for patients' needs Reliable transportation and required travel
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITES
Performs patient work-ups and diagnostic testing as required by most senior level clinical staff Answers patient questions and telephone inquiries, including but not limited to, attaining resolution to patient problems Ensures all clinic equipment is functioning properly; requests repairs and maintenance Maintains a smooth flow of patients to the physical, altering the test sequence as required Provides back support by returning patient phone calls and managing prescription refill. Assists with appointment scheduling and surgery scheduling as needed Orders all clinical supplies
Education and Experience:
Certified as ophthalmic technician or medical technologist preferred Experience work in ophthalmic care or other medical office College degree or certificate preferred Ability to speak Mandarin is a plus
Location :
Ability to travel to Torrance, Santa Monica, and Downtown LA; and other practice locations as needed
