Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometric Technician to join our team. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our optometrist in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. If you have a passion for patient care and possess the necessary skills and knowledge, we would love to hear from you.
Duties:
  • Perform preliminary tests on patients, including measuring visual acuity, depth perception, and color vision
  • Conduct diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging ($5.00 bonus per retinal image sell)
  • Assist with contact lens fittings and provide instructions on proper lens insertion and removal
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure all equipment is clean and functioning properly
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history and test results
  • Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have
  • Assist with front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and verifying insurance information
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Familiarity with optical procedures and equipment
  • Experience with medical coding is preferred
  • Excellent patient care skills with the ability to make patients feel comfortable during examinations
  • Proficient in taking vital signs accurately
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math skills for retail transactions
  • Experience with medical records management is a plus .
