In this vital role, you will assist ophthalmologists in providing comprehensive eye examinations, perform diagnostic tests, and support clinical workflows with precision and compassion. Duties Conduct patient intake by gathering medical history, current symptoms, and relevant information with professionalism and empathy Perform diagnostic tests including visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements. Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all equipment is prepared and maintained according to safety standards Maintain accurate medical records within electronic health record (EHR) systems Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently Educate patients on eye health, medication usage, and post-procedure care to promote understanding and compliance Requirements Prior experience in medical office settings or clinic environments preferred; ophthalmology or optical experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health and vision care Familiarity with EMR systems s for documentation and record keeping Ability to perform intake procedures accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, team members, and healthcare providers This role offers an engaging environment where your technical skills and compassionate approach will be valued.
