The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the optometric practice by assisting with patient care, managing office tasks, selling products, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. This position requires excellent communication skills and a passion for providing exceptional service to patients. Responsibilities Greet patients and assist them with check-in procedures. Conduct preliminary tests, including taking vital signs and recording medical history. Assist in the examination process by preparing patients for the optometrist. Provide information to patients regarding eyewear options and optical products. Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up communications. Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as ODLink. Handle medical billing processes and ensure proper coding for insurance claims. Educate patients on proper contact lens care and usage. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment. Skills Knowledge of optical terminology and products is essential. Familiarity with medical terminology related to ophthalmology and physiology is preferred. Experience in retail sales or customer service within a healthcare setting is advantageous. Proficiency in using EHR systems, particularly ODLink, is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage patient records effectively. Ability to communicate clearly with patients and team members, ensuring a positive experience for all. Capability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinic environment while maintaining professionalism.
