Job Description

Company Overview Eye Physicians & Surgeons, PC is a busy multi-specialty ophthalmology practice with four locations, serving patients for over thirty years. Our dedicated team provides comprehensive eye care and surgical services to a diverse patient population. Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, ophthalmology procedures, and medical office operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality eye care while developing your expertise in a fast-paced clinical environment. Duties Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring accurate and efficient workflow. Perform pre-test assessments including measuring vital signs, visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and other diagnostic tests. Prepare patients for exams by taking comprehensive medical histories and conducting intake procedures in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain sterile techniques and aseptic protocols during clinical procedures to ensure patient safety. Operate optical equipment and assist with diagnostic testing, including slit-lamp exams and retinal imaging. Manage medical records electronically using EMR systems such as Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of patient information. Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and handling patient inquiries with professionalism. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless clinic flow and exceptional patient experiences. Experience Prior experience working in an ophthalmology or medical office setting is highly preferred. Knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms is required. Experience with medical billing, coding, and insurance verification is advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, patient privacy standards, and aseptic techniques. Background in retail sales or front desk operations can be beneficial for patient interaction skills. Previous clinic experience involving pediatrics or specialized eye care enhances suitability for this role. Pay:
$18.00 - $35.00 per hour
