Full Job Description Description:
At Palm Beach Eye Center , we have an immediate opening for an experienced Ophthalmic Scribe and have openings at both our Delray and Lake Worth locations! This is a Monday - Friday, Day shift position. No Weekends and No Holidays, with a signing bonus up to $3,000 on top of the great benefits, and competitive pay! We are an established vision and ophthalmology center with several locations in Florida. Our board-certified eye physicians and optical team offer compassionate, personalized treatments for common and complex eye conditions and uphold a dedication to patient care that is simply second to none. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience as an ophthalmic scribe in a successful ophthalmology practice. As an ophthalmic scribe in our state-of-the-art practice, you will need to: Accurately and thoroughly document ophthalmic exams and procedures as they are being performed by the physician. List all appropriate diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the physician Provide patients and/or family members with instructions for self-care and follow-up as directed by the physician Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays Performs patient testing accurately and effectively as directed by the clinical provider(s) i.e. Slit Lamp Exam, PAMS, Visual Fields, Color Test, Tonometry, OCT's, Fundus Photos, etc. If assigned to a retina specialist assists retina physician(s) with intraocular injections as needed Effectively communicates physician instructions to patients and documents accordingly Assists the physician with pharmacy calls, patient calls, etc. Ensures the scheduling template is being followed correctly Ensures all patient lanes are clean and well-stocked at the end of each day Ensures all equipment is turned off and covered properly at the end of the day Completes tech station duties daily Call in Rx's - Only certified ophthalmic techs can ERx. The exception is the tech can ERx if scribing for a doctor and the script is done under the doctor's name Must understand sterile technique
Requirements:
