Ophthalmic Technician Competitive Pay - Based on Experience We are a well-established ophthalmology practice seeking a professional, detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Ophthalmic Technician to join our clinical team. This role is ideal for candidates with strong clinical skills, excellent patient interaction, and a commitment to high-quality care. Key Responsibilities Room patients and prepare exam rooms and charts for physician visits Accurately obtain and document patient histories in the electronic medical record (EMR) Perform ophthalmic testing, including: Visual acuity testing, tonometry, and lensometry Motility, pupil assessments, and color vision testing Keratometry, pachymetry, and corneal topography Automated visual field testing and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Perform manual and automated refractions Assist physicians with in-office procedures and minor surgeries Scribe for the physician as needed Maintain, clean, and calibrate ophthalmic equipment Return patient and pharmacy calls promptly and professionally Provide patient education materials and instructions Adhere to HIPAA, safety, and professional standards Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Medical Assistant certification or equivalent clinical experience preferred Ophthalmology or optometry experience strongly preferred (training available for qualified candidates) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and patient service skills Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment Professional appearance and demeanor required Spanish proficiency highly preferred Job Type Full-time/ Part-time ( 30-40 hours)
