Job Description
Palatka Vision Center is seeking an experienced Optometric Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician to join our friendly, patient-focused team. If you are dependable, compassionate, and enjoy providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to meet you! Position Overview We are looking for an experienced team member who is comfortable working alongside our doctors to provide outstanding patient care. The ideal candidate has previous experience in an optometry or ophthalmology practice and is confident performing patient pretesting using a variety of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as an Optometric Assistant, Ophthalmic Technician, or Ophthalmic Assistant in an optometry or ophthalmology practice (preferred) Experience performing patient pretesting using ophthalmic equipment, including: Auto refractor Fundus camera Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Tonometry (intraocular pressure testing) Visual field testing Experience obtaining patient medical and ocular histories Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment Professional appearance, positive attitude, and dependable work ethic Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred Responsibilities Welcome patients and prepare them for their eye examinations Obtain and document medical and ocular histories Perform patient pretesting and diagnostic imaging Measure visual acuity and intraocular pressure Assist the doctor during examinations and procedures Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record Maintain exam rooms, instruments, and diagnostic equipment Ensure a positive, professional experience for every patient Assist with additional clinical duties as needed Why Join Palatka Vision Center?
