The Diagnostic Technician , as an essential member of the ophthalmology healthcare team, the Ophthalmology Diagnostic Technician plays a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating various eye conditions and disorders and are responsible for operating diagnostic equipment to obtain images and measurements as ordered by the physician. Responsibilities Obtain a detailed patient history, including eye-related symptoms, medical conditions, and medications. Administer basic vision tests, such as visual acuity and color vision testing, to gather essential information. You will also conduct a variety of specialized tests, including but not limited to:
Fundus Photography:
Capturing images of the back of the eye to assess the retina and optic nerveVisual Field Testing:
Evaluating peripheral vision to detect abnormalities Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT): Creating high-resolution cross-sectional images of the eye's structuresA-scan and B-scan Ultrasound:
Measuring the size and structure of the eye, useful for diagnosing conditions like glaucoma and retinal detachmentCorneal Topography:
