Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preliminary patient screenings and assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history
  • Assist ophthalmologists in various procedures and examinations, such as measuring visual acuity, tonometry, and administering eye drops
  • Conduct diagnostic tests, such as visual field testing, OCT scans, and corneal topography
  • Prepare patients for surgery and provide post-operative care instructions
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
  • Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and handling billing inquiries
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or in a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of ophthalmology procedures, equipment, and terminology
  • Familiarity with medical billing and coding processes
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Understanding of basic anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to the eye
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Scribing for the doctor Please note that sales experience is not required for this position.
