Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe

Responsibilities Make up to $25/hour• when you join the team at McConnell Eye Associates! (•Compensation based on experience and credentials.) The ophthalmic scribe is responsible for greeting patients in a prompt and courteous manner, while maintaining a professional appearance and conduct at all times.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting the ophthalmologist by gathering data pertaining to the patient's visual status by maintaining an environment conducive to the delivery of efficient quality eye care Instruct patient both verbally and with written instructions regarding medication and treatment Answer patient questions as needed Review doctor's schedule in advance and work with front office staff to maintain a full schedule for the doctor Controls patient flow in the clinic Tonometry (measure eye pressure) Measure pupil size and reactivity Test and measure eye muscle function Visual field testing Corneal thickness measurement Corneal curvature measurement Corneal topography Biometry Assist with surgery scheduling, patient education, patient instructions Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures Perform other duties as assigned: job descriptions are not intended to be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with a job. Prior medical office experience is a plus. Looking for someone eager to bring prior experience as well as learn new skills.

Pay:

$15.00 - $25.00 per hour
