We have been offering services in optometry, cataract surgery, cornea, retina, and glaucoma treatment, oculoplastics, and pediatric ophthalmology for 50 years! As a Special Testing Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our ophthalmology clinics. This role is responsible for performing a variety of patient tests using advanced ophthalmic equipment including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Perimetry, Biometry, Specular Microscopy, Photography, and Topography. The ideal candidate will document records efficiently, enter detailed patient information into the testing equipment database, and interact professionally and compassionately with patients and other technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform special testing such as Visual Field Testing, OCT, Humphrey Visual Fields, IOL Master/A-Scan, Fundus photography, topography, pachymetry, and axial length measurements. Efficiently document patients' test results in the EMR system. Administer eye drops and explain their effects to patients. Maintain and disinfect examination rooms and equipment. Assist Physicians and other Ophthalmology providers. Transport patients within the facility to testing rooms. Provide training to technicians when required. Stay updated with testing technologies and equipment.
Education:
High School Diploma required; Degree preferred.
Experience:
2-3 years of experience in an Ophthalmic Clinic preferred. Knowledge of EMR, MS Word, and Excel; ability to type 45 wpm. Familiarity with ophthalmic terminology preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Bilingual speaking skills are a plus. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask, detail-oriented, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Reliable attendance and promptness. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
