Job Description

Elite Eye Care, PC is a thriving and evolving private optometry practice with locations in Waukee, Ankeny and Norwalk, Iowa. This position is for our Waukee location but occasional travel to alternate locations is expected. We are customer-centric, supportive and innovative.
Our work environment includes:
4-day work week (32-34 hours) with the option of a 5-day work week Modern office setting Safe work environment Growth opportunities Team mindset Optometric Technician Responsibilities Conduct preliminary testing, document chief complaint, update health history including medications, medication allergies, and family history, etc. Enter lensometry readings, current contact lens prescription, vitals, and VA results, etc. Perform special testing as ordered by the doctor (HVF, OCT, pachymetry, Optomap, topography, autorefraction, Amsler grid, color testing, SPOT testing, InfantSee testing, stereo testing, IOP,etc.). Chair-side assistance as needed. Perform dilations and Contact Lens Insert and Removal training. Complete patient check-out procedures, including patient invoicing, collecting copays, ordering contacts, and scheduling follow-ups. Maintain correspondence with other medical offices, scheduling referrals and consults, as well as providing reports for patients with applicable medical conditions. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of exam rooms, pre-testing room, and all equipment. Maintain and order supplies necessary and keep exam rooms fully stocked with pens, business cards, drops, rebates, etc. Prepare and shut down rooms daily. Perform monthly backups on equipment as necessary. Provide backup for answering incoming phone calls and optical dispenses as needed. Direct patients by walking them as needed to optical or restroom. Provide other duties within your department as well as others as needed. Typical Work Hours Monday-Thursday 7:45-5:30 Friday 7:45-2:00 (A common day off is provided for those interested in a 4-day work week) Team Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the signed handbook agreement. Provide training as needed to advance your department. Exhibit the values of the practice through communicating gratitude, value of products and services and transparent billing procedures. Maintain a positive mindset to help create a welcoming environment for yourself and your team members. Travel to alternate locations as needed. Assist your team members and work diligently and efficiently to increase productivity. Contribute to a positive patient experience by ensuring the office appearance and process of care from greeting to retention consistently exceeds patient expectations.
