In medical practice since 1919, Wolfe Eye Clinic is a multi-specialty clinic providing vision care services throughout Iowa. At Wolfe Eye Clinic, we create Better Vision for a Better Life. We have opportunities for Ophthalmic Technicians based in our Hiawatha clinic. We are looking for motivated candidates to join our team. Successful candidates will have a desire to learn in a fast-paced setting and the ability to positively interact and help patients while providing patient education and instructions. Interested applicants should be willing to work both independently and as a member of a team, provide excellent patient care, and perform patient workups in a precise and efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Document patient's medical and ocular histories in electronic medical record. Perform patient workups. Complete diagnostic testing, such as retinoscopy, manual refraction, applanation A-scan, keratometry, tonometry, OCT's and visual fields. Provide patient education according to physician instructions. Perform other duties as assigned. Travel to other offices as needed.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
Medical office experience required. Ophthalmic testing experience preferred. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Experience providing excellent patient care. Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and communicate concerns regarding the results of diagnostic testing.
