Modern office setting Growth opportunities On-the-job training Company perks We are seeking a professional Optometric Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for pre-testing patients. The technician gathers patient information prior to them being seen by the doctor. This is done through verbal communication, conducting various vision tests, and documenting all findings in the Electronic Health Record. This is a very busy work environment, so we are interested in hiring an individual with experience handling stressful situations and the ability to work well under pressure. Experience in the optometry field is beneficial but not required, as we will train the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

Opening and closing all exam rooms. Great patients and escort them to the appropriate exam room. Triage patient's vision or eye related medical complaint. Utilize a variety of optical equipment like the auto-refractor, Optovue for oct/retinal screening, visual field assessment, and other visual analyzers. Examine patient's eyes with a variety of specialized tests to include but not limited to, color vision, stereo, acuities, perrla, and confrontations. Check eye pressure, blood pressure, and administer drops as needed. Understand the various types of prescriptions in order to explain changes in eyeglass prescriptions. Perform contact lens training to new contact wearers.
