Job Description

Are you interested in joining a large, comprehensive, state-of-the-art eye care multi specialty practice where you can help patients preserve or regain their vision as an ophthalmic technician? Competitive compensation package is included for the position and based on experience. The ideal candidate should have experience working in an ophthalmology or optometric office environment (ideal if you have scribe experience) with preference to those candidates who worked directly with patients on a daily basis but we can also train a motivated candidate . Cheerful disposition a must. This position requires candidates who are prepared to work in a fast paced environment with strong attention to detail. Candidates must be prepared to work starting at 7:00 AM, must be able to work some Saturday mornings, and must have reliable transportation.
Responsibilities include:
Taking Complete Medical Histories; Refracting; (Scribing a plus); Performing various tests as directed by doctors (can train if you don't have all of these skills)
Skills:
  • Responsible for technical workup, daily patient care, and flow of clinical activities.
  • Efficiently and accurately interview patients, document history and prepare patient for eye exam.
  • OCT, Fundus photography
  • Assist physician in scribing, patient care and office surgery.
  • Ability to communicate with patients, coworkers, and physicians is critical.
  • Lensometer, Autorefraction
  • Visual Field Testing
