Measure vital signs such as blood pressure to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Assist the optometrist during eye examinations by performing preliminary tests like visual acuity assessments, and intraocular pressure measurements. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with privacy standards. Prepare exam rooms using aseptic techniques to ensure a clean, safe environment for both patients and staff. Manage electronic medical records (EMR) systems to document patient information accurately and efficiently. Support optical services by assisting with frame selection, lens ordering, retail sales, and inventory management while applying retail math principles for accurate transactions. Collaborate with front desk staff to schedule appointments, handle patient inquiries, and manage medical billing or coding processes related to ophthalmology services. Skills Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills that create a welcoming atmosphere. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience maintaining confidentiality in a medical setting. Experience working with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for accurate record keeping. Ability to handle retail sales transactions confidently while applying retail math principles for accurate billing. Front desk skills including appointment scheduling, patient communication, and managing medical records efficiently.
