Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Scribe to support ophthalmologists in delivering exceptional eye care services. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical documentation skills, a solid understanding of ophthalmic physiology and anatomy, and experience working within medical office environments. As an Ophthalmic Scribe, you will play a vital role in accurately transcribing clinical notes, managing electronic health records, and ensuring seamless communication between healthcare providers and patients. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialized knowledge in ophthalmology while contributing to high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Accurately transcribe detailed clinical notes during patient examinations, ensuring all relevant information is documented precisely. Assist ophthalmologists by preparing and updating EHR systems with current patient data. Support physicians in documenting patient histories, examination findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans using specialized medical terminology. Maintain comprehensive and organized medical documentation to facilitate efficient patient care and legal compliance. Utilize strong typing skills to record information swiftly while maintaining accuracy during fast-paced clinical encounters. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure all patient records are complete, accurate, and up-to-date. Demonstrate knowledge of ocular physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to enhance documentation quality. Assist with administrative tasks related to medical records management and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information. Qualifications Prior experience working in a medical office environment, preferably within ophthalmology or optometry practices. Proficiency in transcription, with excellent typing speed and accuracy. Familiarity with EHR systems used in healthcare settings. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to ophthalmology, physiology, and anatomy. Experience with medical documentation practices that emphasize clarity, completeness, and compliance with healthcare regulations. Knowledge of medical records management principles and confidentiality standards. Ability to work efficiently in busy clinical environments. Excellent organizational skills coupled with attention to detail to ensure precise record-keeping at all times.
