In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care while utilizing your specialized skills in visual field testing and ophthalmic procedures. Your expertise will help diagnose and monitor eye conditions, ensuring patients receive precise assessments and compassionate support. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced clinic environment where your technical proficiency and dedication to patient well-being make a real difference. Duties Perform comprehensive visual field testing using advanced equipment to assess patients' peripheral vision and detect abnormalities. Assist ophthalmologists during examinations by preparing patients, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout testing. Collect and document patient intake information, including medical history, current medications, and symptoms, adhering to HIPAA privacy standards. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation to support overall patient assessment. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure a sterile environment. Manage medical records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or other EMR platforms, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting with patient inquiries. Collaborate with team members in pediatrics and general ophthalmology to provide tailored eye care services for diverse patient populations. Assist with optical experience setups, including lens measurements and frame fittings, enhancing patient satisfaction. Participate in medical billing and coding processes related to ophthalmic services to ensure accurate reimbursement. Qualifications Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry clinics with a strong understanding of visual field testing techniques. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health and visual pathways. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for medical records management. Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations, including pediatrics. Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and maintain aseptic techniques during procedures. Experience with optical equipment, retail sales, or front desk operations is a plus for providing comprehensive patient service. Basic understanding of medical billing, coding, HIPAA compliance, and medical office procedures. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and appointment scheduling.
