The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care within our ophthalmology practice. This position involves assisting ophthalmologists in various clinical tasks, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care during their visits. Duties Perform preliminary eye examinations, including taking patient histories and measuring visual acuity. Administer diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging. Assist with minor surgical procedures and ensure proper sterilization of instruments. Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions. Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and vision to assist in patient assessments. Monitor and record vital signs as needed during patient visits. Experience Candidates should possess experience in a medical office setting, preferably within an ophthalmology or similar healthcare environment. Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye is essential, along with the ability to perform essential tasks efficiently. A commitment to ongoing professional development is encouraged to enhance skills and knowledge in this specialized field.
