Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician

Longwood Eye and LASIK Center has added a physician to the team, and therefore we are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant / Technician to join our growing group of technicians. This role will require working at both our Gardner and Fitchburg locations. We are a well-established multispecialty ophthalmic practice, offering care through our team of optometrists and ophthalmologists specializing in glaucoma, retina, oculoplastics, cataract, cornea, and comprehensive eyecare.

Key Responsibilities:

Obtain detailed patient medical and ocular histories Enter and manage information in electronic medical records (EMR) Conduct preliminary testing including visual acuity, intraocular pressure measurement, and refractions Administer eye drops and assist with patient preparation Perform and interpret a variety of diagnostic tests including: OCT, Humphrey VF, fundus photography, specular microscopy, biometry Assist in clinical procedures such as laser treatments, oculoplastic procedures, intravitreal injections Provide scribing support to physicians during patient encounters

Qualifications:

Prior experience in optometry or ophthalmology is advantageous, though training will be provided for the right candidate. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in a related healthcare field such as phlebotomy, medical assisting, CNA, or pharmacy technician, but experience in these fields is not required. A positive attitude, and a willingness to learn are essential

Position Details:

The office operates Monday through Friday, approximately from 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM. Full-time or part-time position is available, with preference given to candidates able to commit to full-day availability. Specific details can be discussed further during the interview. Pay:

$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
