Duties Prepare patients for ophthalmic examinations by taking comprehensive intake information and documenting medical histories accurately. Perform ophthalmic testing, including measurement of visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and other diagnostic assessments. Operate ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment including A-scan biometry and tonometry devices to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Perform eye refraction tests to determine prescriptions for corrective lenses, ensuring precise patient assessments. Assist with ophthalmic examinations by applying aseptic techniques, maintaining clinical confidentiality policies, and adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems efficiently, documenting all patient interactions, test results, and clinical notes thoroughly. Support the clinical team by maintaining medical records, ensuring all documentation complies with confidentiality standards and regulatory requirements.
