Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure a seamless experience Operate ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment including Optos and tonometry devices to gather precise ocular measurements Conduct contact lens insertion and removal training and ophthalmic patient examinations by performing eye refraction, visual acuity tests, and other diagnostic procedures under supervision Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure patient safety and privacy at all times Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems efficiently, documenting exam results, patient histories, and treatment notes accurately Assist with the operation of medical equipment, ensuring proper calibration, cleaning, and maintenance for optimal performance Skills Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and medical records security Proficiency in ophthalmology procedures such as eye refraction, tonometry, OCT and ophthalmic diagnostic imaging Experience with medical office operations including patient intake, appointment scheduling, and EMR/EHR management Knowledge of medical terminology related to optometry and to accurately interpret exam findings Ability to perform clinical tasks such as visual acuities, I & R's and direct patient care with compassion and professionalism Familiarity with optical experience Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about procedures and answer their questions confidently This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to improving vision health.
