Job Description

Certified Ophthalmic Assistant/Certified Ophthalmic Technician Worcester Ophthalmology Associates - Worcester, MA Busy ophthalmology practice seeking experienced certified ophthalmic assistant (COA) or certified ophthalmic technician (COT) to join our team. As a tech, you are responsible for performing and accurately documenting patient work-ups including, but not limited to, visual acuity testing, manifest refraction, applanation tonometry, BAT testing, and pachymetry. Performing diagnostic testing including OCT, fundus photography, visual field testing, Pentacam topography, and IOLMaster. Perform patient telephone triage. Assist in minor office procedures and maintain patient flow throughout the clinic. Must be willing to scribe for the physicians when needed (we can train). It is essential that the candidate demonstrates respect for staff and patients, and works well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multitask is a must. Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail. Knowledge of basic medical and ophthalmic terminology, including common abbreviations. Proficient use of a computer and Electronic Medical Records.
