Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Ophthalmic Medical Technician, where your expertise in eye care and patient support will make a meaningful difference. In this vital role, you will assist ophthalmologists in providing exceptional eye health services, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and delivering compassionate patient care. Your technical skills and knowledge of ophthalmology will help facilitate accurate diagnostics, effective treatments, and positive patient experiences. Physicians:
 Accurately document patient encounters, examination findings, and physician notes in real time.
Visual Field Testing:
 Administer and interpret visual field tests following standard protocols to assist in the diagnosis and monitoring of ocular conditions.
Manual Refractions:
 Perform precise manual refractions to determine patients' visual acuity and assist in prescription verification.
Goldmann Tonometry:
 Conduct intraocular pressure measurements using Goldmann applanation tonometry to aid in glaucoma screening and management. Perform comprehensive patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Assist ODs and MDs during examinations and procedures, providing support with instrumentation and patient positioning. Manage medical records efficiently using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on eye health, medication instructions, and post-procedure care to promote understanding and adherence. Requirements Proven experience in patient care within an ophthalmology or medical office setting. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health. Familiarity with EMR platforms for documentation management. Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, intake procedures, and aseptic techniques accurately. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and providers. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times. Experience with optical equipment and understanding of ophthalmic procedures is highly desirable. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
$21.00 - $28.00 per hour
