Today, Yaldo Eye Center has served patients all over Michigan and the Midwest through our locations in Farmington Hills, Rochester Hills & Garden City.
ROLE:
Ophthalmic Technician We are looking for an Ophthalmic Technician (Refractive/Surgical) for busy Ophthalmology Practice (Multi-Location). We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to serve as the Ophthalmic Technician for an established Ophthalmology/Lasik Practice. This role is pivotal for the successful day to day running of our multi location practice.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform patient work-up's, notating chief complaint, record medical history, assist with refracting/verifying vision & intraocular pressure. Prepare instruments for surgery; wash and sterilize equipment post-surgery. Manage patient flow from pre-op through surgery to post-op phase. Monitor and maintain inventory of all medications and medical supplies. Monitor clinic equipment; maintain records regarding equipment service, testing and safety according to company policy and procedure. Delivering quality patient care, excellent communication and customer service Applying drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes Educating patients by providing information regarding treatment, use of drops and drugs Operating various ophthalmology diagnostic equipment Perform necessary testing and documenting patients' visits in EHR system. Communicate effectively with reception team and leadership team around visit notes and appropriate next steps. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Reliable Ability to work well independently and in a group setting Excellent communication skills Data entry and typing skills Able to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent customer service skills Able to receive constructive criticism and feedback and effectively apply. Previous experience in physician assistant role or similar administrative position Knowledge of medical terminology, regulations and medical office procedures Previous experience in LASIK, Ophthalmology or Optometry is preferred but not required. Previous experience/confidence with working with an Electronic Health Records We offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. Schedule to be discussed.
