Job Description

Elevate Eye Care + Eyewear is a locally owned small private practice in Rochester Hills. We focus on specialty contact lenses and dry eye care and provide comprehensive eye exams where we really get to know our patients on a personal level. Many patients travel to us from all over the state of Michigan for their custom contact lenses. We have a brand new state of the art office and work with a variety of manufacturers on researching new technology for the industry.
Responsibilities:
  • Ability to sell premium quality glasses and contact lenses
  • Skilled in fitting, adjustment, and dispensing glasses
  • To be familiar with our optical inventory and products to provide the most appropriate selections for the patient
  • Answer phones to schedule patients and answer general questions
  • Assist optometrist with patient examinations and procedures
  • Obtain and record patient medical history, including any relevant symptoms or complaints
  • Perform diagnostic tests and measurements, such as visual acuity, intraocular pressure, retinal imaging, corneal topography, autorefraction
  • Prepare patients for contact lens fittings and assist with contact lens insertion and removal
  • Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens wear and maintenance, and eyewear options
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Skills:
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eye
  • Proficiency in using optical instruments and equipment
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques for maintaining a sterile environment
  • Experience with Crystal PM or other electronic medical record (EMR) systems used in optometry or medical offices Candidate requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent At least 3 years of experience in the optical field Familiarity working with many vision plans including Eyemed, Heritage, NVA, Davis Vision, VSP, etc.
Great interpersonal and customer service skills The passion to assist in other tasks that aid in office efficiency and growth of the practice Compensation depends on experience and skill level. This position requires a combination of technical skills, medical knowledge, and excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have a passion for helping others, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively.
