We are a locally owned eye clinic in Bolivar, Missouri, and we are looking for a kind, dependable, detail-oriented person to join us as an Optometric Technician . This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys helping people, likes a steady but active workday, and takes pride in doing things accurately. You do not need previous eye care experience. We are happy to train the right person. As an Optometric Technician, you will work closely with Dr. Sechler and the rest of our team to help patients feel comfortable, cared for, and prepared for their eye exam. What You'll Do In this role, you will help guide patients through the clinical side of their visit.
Responsibilities may include:
Welcoming patients and helping them feel comfortable before their exam Taking patient histories and documenting concerns clearly Performing preliminary testing before the doctor exam Using diagnostic equipment such as retinal imaging, visual field testing, OCT, ERG, and other eye health technology Measuring vision, eye pressure, and other important exam data Assisting with contact lens training and patient education Helping children, seniors, and nervous patients feel at ease Cleaning and preparing exam rooms and equipment between patients Entering information accurately into our electronic health record system Communicating with the doctor and team to keep the schedule running smoothly Supporting the front desk and optical team as needed Participating in training and team meetings as we continue to grow What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Kind, patient, and genuinely enjoys helping people Dependable and consistent Detail-oriented and able to follow processes carefully Comfortable using computers and learning new software Able to stay calm and friendly during a busy day Professional in communication, appearance, and attitude A team player who is willing to jump in where needed Curious and willing to learn Respectful of patient privacy and confidentiality Previous experience in optometry, ophthalmology, healthcare, customer service, or medical assisting is helpful, but not required.
