Job Description

Busy Festus and Kirkwood Ophthalmology practice seeks a pleasant, energetic, patient friendly ophthalmic technician to assist in providing quality eye care. Dependability and strong communication skills are a must. Duties include a full range of ophthalmic technical services & specialized ophthalmic testing. Full time position available. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday with no weekend or evening hours. Prior experience as an ophthalmic technician is required for this position. Summary of Responsibilities Position requires good understanding of ophthalmic processes and patient care. Knowledge of medical instrumentation and its proper care and usage is needed. Ability to communicate with patients, co-workers and administration is critical. Must be willing to help in all areas and understand the need for efficient use of time. Some travel required between Festus and Kirkwood offices. Responsibilities to Include Prompt and professional assistance for the doctor with patient care. Efficiently and accurately perform and document technical workups, patient histories and special testing. Communicate with patients regarding follow-up care, procedures, changes in schedule and symptoms. Maintain and clean all equipment being used.
