We are looking to add to our Clinical Assistants working directly with our providers to care for our patients.
JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Prepares examination rooms and patients for Optometrist.
  • Initiates patient evaluation, documents chief complaint and review of symptoms.
  • Gathers patient medical and social history.
  • Measures visual acuity (near, far, and pinhole).
  • Performs Auto Refraction, Lensometry, Visual Field, Ocular Coherence Tomography, and any other testing as ordered by doctor.
  • Cleans exam rooms, sterilizes instruments.
  • Instructs patients concerning medicines and tests.
  • Complete medication refill requests.
  • Screens phone messages, triages emergency calls surgical procedures and returns patient calls.
  • Assists Optical with contact lens ordering.
Other:
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments, procedures and office procedures for optometry.
  • Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public.
  • Equipment Used:
    Fundus Camera, OCT, Visual Field, Auto Refractor, IPL, Lipiscan, and Lipiflow.
  • Knowledge of Prior Authorizations for Medication Refills.
