In this energetic role, you will support optometrists by performing patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and managing medical records. Your expertise will help ensure smooth clinic operations while providing compassionate service to patients of all ages. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake processes to ensure a seamless check-in experience Measure visual acuity to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Prepare patients for examinations by performing initial assessments, including history taking and basic eye tests Assist during examinations and procedures. Operate optical equipment and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like OM to document patient data accurately Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and care to promote understanding and compliance Manage medical records with attention to HIPAA privacy standards while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality Support front desk operations when needed, including scheduling appointments and handling retail sales of eyewear or accessories Skills Strong knowledge of optometric principles, and medical terminology to support clinical functions effectively Proven experience in patient care, including all aspects of prescreening. Experience with optical equipment, EMR systems, and medical billing/coding processes is highly desirable Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures clearly and providing compassionate patient support Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail Basic retail math skills for managing sales transactions confidently and accurately This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about eye health who want to develop their expertise in optometric care.
