Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the daily operations of our optometry practice. You will be responsible for assisting with patient intake, performing preliminary eye exams, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. Your expertise in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and familiarity with EMR systems will be essential in delivering high-quality care to our patients. Duties Conduct patient intake by gathering medical history while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist optometrists during eye examinations. Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. Manage medical records accurately and efficiently using EMR systems. Provide education to patients regarding their eye health, treatment options, and proper use of prescribed eyewear. Support front desk operations including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and handling insurance verification. Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal clinic flow and patient satisfaction. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office setting or clinic is preferred, particularly in optometry or ophthalmology. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical coding/billing practices is advantageous. Familiarity with EMR systems is highly desirable. Experience in patient care Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude are essential for success in this role. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Retail experience with an understanding of retail sales processes is beneficial.
