Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients while ensuring a seamless clinic experience. Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary screening tests on patients, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and imaging
- Assist with patient intake, history documentation, and updating electronic health records.
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for optometrists
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
- Assist with selection of eyewear and ordering contact lenses
- Maintain cleanliness and aseptic technique in the clinic area
- Support pediatric patients during eye exams with sensitivity and care Experience
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Familiarity with medical terminology and physiology
- Experience in a clinic setting preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a private practice (non-corporate) environment
