Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist optometrists in providing exceptional eye care services to patients. You will be responsible for performing various clinical tasks, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the practice. You will also be assisting with our dry eye spa and help prep aesthetic & medical prcoedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of medical office procedures, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Duties Conduct preliminary eye exams and tests, including visual acuity assessments and tonometry. Assist patients with the selection of eyewear and provide information on lens options. Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with optometrists to ensure efficient patient care and follow-up. Utilize software systems such as Revolution EHR for managing patient information and appointments. Help prep patients for dry eye & aesthetic procedures Assist doctor in procedures Apply knowledge of physiology to explain procedures and answer patient questions effectively. Requirements Previous experience in a medical office or retail sales environment is preferred. Knowledge of retail math is beneficial for assisting with eyewear sales. Familiarity with medical billing processes is an asset. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Experience with front desk operations is advantageous. A passion for providing excellent customer service and enhancing the patient experience.
