The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the optometric practice by providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various clinical and administrative tasks. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about eye care and have a strong desire to contribute to a positive patient experience. Responsibilities Assist optometrist during patient examinations by preparing patients for exams and obtaining relevant medical history. Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception assessments. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring that the clinic is well-stocked. Handle appointment scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups to enhance patient flow. Verify insurance eligibility. Process billing and insurance claims as needed. Collect payment Uphold aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe clinical environment. Provide support in pediatric eye care, ensuring that children feel comfortable during their visits. Qualifications Previous experience in a clinical setting or optometry practice is preferred but not required. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and basic medical coding is advantageous Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and customer service. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of retail math principles to assist with inventory management and sales transactions. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality Prior experience is desirable but not required.
