In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, assist with clinical procedures, and support the ophthalmology team in delivering top-tier eye care services. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and efficiently manage intake processes to ensure smooth clinic flow Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation to assist in comprehensive patient assessments Prepare examination rooms using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment for all procedures Assist ophthalmologists with clinical tasks including eye drops administration, dilation procedures, and basic diagnostic tests Operate optical equipment and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic to accurately document patient information and clinical notes Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and post-procedure care while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Support front desk operations by managing medical records, scheduling appointments, and handling retail sales of eyewear and accessories Skills Strong foundation in patient care with excellent communication skills to comfort and inform diverse patient populations Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and security of all patient information Experience with intake procedures, vital signs measurement, and maintaining accurate medical records Proficiency in aseptic technique to uphold infection control standards during clinical procedures Familiarity with optical equipment, ophthalmology practices, and medical terminology related to eye health Understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to the eye and visual system for effective patient assessments Ability to navigate EMR systems such as Epic efficiently for documentation and scheduling purposes Prior experience in medical office settings or clinic environments is highly desirable Basic retail math skills for sales transactions involving eyewear products Knowledge of medical coding and billing processes related to ophthalmic services is a plus Experience working with pediatric patients is beneficial for supporting diverse age groups in the clinic This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to advance their career in ophthalmology while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Pay:
