Duties Operate optical manufacturing equipment. Interpret ophthalmic prescriptions and lens parameters accurately, ensuring correct fabrication aligned with ophthalmology standards Manage laboratory workflows efficiently, prioritizing high-volume production while maintaining quality standards Conduct routine equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting. Perform laboratory procedures such as lens edging, polishing, and quality assurance checks to meet exacting specifications Identify lens parameters through precise measurement techniques and laboratory techniques to verify accuracy before final assembly Maintain detailed records of manufacturing processes, quality control results, and laboratory documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements Requirements Proven experience in an optical laboratory setting or related manufacturing environment with high-volume production expertise Strong mechanical knowledge of optical equipment setup In-depth understanding of ophthalmology concepts, including anatomy and physiology relevant to eye care and lens fabrication Ability to interpret ophthalmic prescription abbreviations accurately and apply them during manufacturing processes Familiarity with laboratory management practices.
