Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care in an ophthalmology practice setting. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques, as well as the ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. The Ophthalmic Technician will assist in various clinical tasks and ensure a smooth workflow within the practice. Responsibilities Perform preliminary eye exams and diagnostic tests to assist ophthalmologists in patient evaluations. Document patient history, symptoms, and vital signs accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Assist with the fitting of contact lenses and provide guidance on proper usage and care. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and sanitized according to clinic protocols. Uphold HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and sensitive information. Collaborate with the ophthalmology team to enhance patient experience and streamline clinic operations. Experience Previous experience in an ophthalmology or medical environment is preferred but, willing to train the right candidate. Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care is essential. Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with patients and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced practice environment while maintaining attention to detail.
