Job Description

Vitreo-Retinal Consultants, Inc. is a private practice ophthalmology group that specializes in the retina. We have seven fellowship-trained retinal specialists, four main locations, and multiple satellite and surgery centers. Since 1981, our vision has been to enhance each patient's quality of life by treating every patient with compassion, respect, and skill. We treat our employees with this same care and consideration. Our practice is expanding its team, and is currently seeking full-time Ophthalmic Assistants. The Ophthalmic Assistant will be responsible for assisting the doctor with various administrative duties and will also be expected to perform various tasks related to surgery and preparation. The ideal candidate for this position has either completed a Bachelor's degree in a related field or has a strong technical background.
Responsibilities:
Conduct daily examinations and screenings of patients to detect any abnormalities of the eyes. Monitor patient health histories, examine medical records, and develop a treatment plan based on findings. Operate equipment in making visual examinations of the eyes and other body parts. Record information produced by equipment used in examinations. Perform special duties in emergencies as needed. Qualifications and skills required for this position: Experience working in a medical office setting preferred Strong organizational skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize "on the fly" Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Will travel to outlying offices (mileage reimbursed) Ability to pay attention to detail Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience Exceptional customer service skills Excellent verbal/written communication skills Professionalism Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Hours:
Monday thru Friday, 7:45 am to 5:15 pm (need to be available during these hours)
