In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assist ophthalmologists with patient examinations, perform diagnostic tests, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Your expertise will help improve patients' vision and overall eye health while providing a positive experience from intake to follow-up. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced medical environment dedicated to excellence and compassionate care. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and conduct initial intake procedures to gather relevant medical history Perform diagnostic testing including visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, and slit-lamp examinations using aseptic techniques Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all equipment is properly prepared and maintained Maintain accurate medical records within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and other EMR platforms, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to foster understanding and compliance Requirements Proven experience in patient care within an ophthalmology or medical office setting is highly preferred Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health and vision care Familiarity with optical equipment, EMR systems, and clinic management software Ability to perform intake procedures accurately while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality standards Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse patient populations Willing to train the right person Embark on a fulfilling career where your skills directly impact patients' lives!
