Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Gather patient medical and ocular histories. Explain procedures and treatments to patients. Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the ophthalmologist or Surgeon. Provide patient support and comfort during procedures and examinations.
Diagnostic Testing:
Perform various vision tests (e.g., visual acuity, etc.) Operate ophthalmic equipment (e.g., autorefractor, lensometer, visual field analyzer). Take accurate ocular measurements (e.g., intraocular pressure, corneal curvature). Assist with the advanced diagnosis procedures
Clinical Assistance:
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures. Assist the ophthalmologist during minor surgeries and laser procedures. Apply and remove eye dressing and protective shields. Scribes for
Physician Administrative Task:
Maintain patients' records and documentation. Manage patient flow Maintain equipment and supplies. Assist with prescription refills.
Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and common eye diseases. Proficiency in operating ophthalmic equipment and performing diagnostic testing. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Knowledge of medical terminology Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Basic computer skills and knowledge of electronic health records (EMR)
Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License; required BLS Certification; preferred Ophthalmic knowledge; preferred but will Train
