ABOUT US
Philadelphia Eye Associates has been a leader in comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract surgery since 1979. In addition to comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract surgery, our practice provides specialty care in the areas of cornea services (including keratoconus care and refractive surgery), as well as oculoplastic and cosmetic services. We also offer specialty optometry services including scleral and medical contact lenses.
JOB SUMMARY
Ophthalmic Technicians are typically the patient's first point of clinical contact. They play a crucial role in helping physicians gather information to diagnose and treat ocular disease.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Document patient medical histories and medications in our electronic medical records. Perform components of an eye exam including: visual acuity measurements, lensometry, refraction, intraocular pressures, and diagnostic testing such as OCT imaging, visual field testing, and biometry Assist physicians with examination and treatment as needed Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and other physicians regarding patient care Monitor and help facilitate patient flow
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required One year prior ophthalmic/optometric experience is required Certification is preferred but not required (COA, COT, COMT) Excellent computer and verbal/written communication skills Must be able to work well in a team environment Must be able to prioritize and organize multiple tasks Must be able to travel between any of our 4 locations
