Overview Job description The Ophthalmic Technician/Optician plays a vital role in supporting eye care professionals within a small team setting. This position involves patient interaction, pre-testing, eyeglass selection, and optical sales, all while using automated diagnostic machines and electronic health records systems. The environment is a small office with a medium patient volume of 10-20 patients per day, offering opportunities for career advancement and requiring strong multitasking skills. Responsibilities Answer phones and schedule appointments efficiently Conduct patient pre-testing procedures using diagnostic equipment Assist patients in eyeglass selection and provide optical sales support Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems for accurate patient documentation Maintain organized workflow within a small team environment Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience as Ophthalmic technician/Optician Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Effective customer communication skills Strong attention to detail Ability to collaborate within a team Proficient computer skills Ability to multitask SKILLS Customer Service Sales skills Detail Oriented Strong Communication Computer skills Answering Phones Chestnut Hill Eye Associates is a modern, growing private practice with a friendly, supportive team and a positive work environment.
